Z. Efe Antalyali
Efe is a doctoral candidate in Medieval History at the University of Notre Dame. He was born and raised in Mersin which is located on the Mediterranean coastline of Turkey. He obtained his LL.B. degree in Law from Istanbul Bilgi University and his M.A. in History from the same institution. As a doctoral candidate, Efe’s research centers on social and cultural history of violence in late medieval Asia Minor (13th-15th C.). Examining both Greek and Islamic sources (Turkish, Persian, Arabic) and going beyond the conventional dichotomies, his research aims at understanding the role of violence in the Islamization of Asia Minor.
