I am a PhD student in the History and Philosophy of Science program, with a particular interest in the history of medicine in early modern England.  After completing my BA in Public Health Studies and History of Science, Medicine, and Technology at Johns Hopkins University, I received my MA in the History of Science, Technology, and Medicine from the University of Oklahoma, where I examined how English divines constructed medicine as an important facet of practical divinity, or lived religion.  My primary research interests are currently in the personae of physicians, studied through the lens of the life and writings of Gideon Harvey, and in surgical practices and knowledge production.  I also have ongoing interests in the philosophy of Henry More, medicine and religion, and experimental practices in medicine.
