Kasia is a PhD student in History at the University of Notre Dame, working on Romantic nationalist poetry as political thought. Her research focuses comparatively on the political afterlives of romantic nationalist poetry among Poles, Ukrainians, Belarusians, Russians, and Jews in nineteenth-century Eastern Europe.

Prior to coming to Notre Dame Kasia studied for an MA in Comparative History at the Central European University in Vienna, where she worked on early modern religious education. She received her BA and M.Ed degrees from Trinity College Dublin.

Apart from history, Kasia has a keen interest in languages, with speaking and reading proficiency in four languages as well as reading ability in a further five. When she’s not learning a new language she can be found reading Juliusz Słowacki to her dogs and cat.
