Susan Naramore is a PhD student of early modern Europe with a focus on Florence, Italy.  She holds an MA in Global, International, & Comparative History from Georgetown University and a BA in Theatre and Classical Archaeology & Ancient History from Franklin & Marshall College.  Her research looks at the connection between the early Medici and their ancestral territory in the Mugello Valley during the fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries.  She is specifically interested in the role this region played in the social, political, and cultural world of Florence in relation to the Medici's rise to power.
