I'm a History PhD student, starting in 2023 after earning a B.A. in History from Middle East Technical University, Turkey. My main academic passion centers on Medieval Europe, with a focus on Western Europe.

My undergraduate thesis scrutinized the diverse impacts of the 1315-1322 Great Famine on Western European society. This work ignited my interest in environmental history, offering a unique perspective to explore various medieval dimensions. I've delved into topics including the economic aftermath of medieval feudal exhaustion, demographic shifts resembling a Malthusian reality check, inclement weather's influence on warfare, climate-induced migration, social cohesion during famines, and the reactions of both common people and authorities to crises. My aspiration is to pursue similar research at Notre Dame.

My nomadic background profoundly shapes my passion for environmental history. In today's world of pressing issues, this field necessitates an interdisciplinary approach. It not only tackles historical challenges but also enriches our broader understanding of history
