Biography

Colin Crawford is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History at the University of Notre Dame. He works in the field of modern U.S. culture and religion, and his dissertation is an analysis of American Catholic representations of India in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. For his departmental service, he was awarded the Kaneb Center’s Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Assistant Award in 2026. He has contributed book reviews to the Middle West Review, American Catholic Studies, and the Journal of American Ethnic History. As an active member of the university community, he has served as the co-facilitator of the Colloquium on Religion and History (CORAH) and as the Association of Graduate Historians Vice President for Mentorship, represented his peers in the Graduate Student Government, and acted as Co-Chair of the JOGS Graduate Student Running Club. He earned a B.A. from Holy Cross College and an M.A. from Marquette University. From 2019-2020, he served in the Casa Carlo Carretto Jesuit Volunteer Community in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
