Sprint Overview

In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27, Hesburgh Libraries will host a “Sprint” reading of microfilmed newspapers from the 1930s and 1940s relating to the Holocaust. The Sprint will focus on hard-to-access titles available only on microfilm. Notre Dame’s strong collection of Catholic newspapers will provide significant, specialized content that did not appear in standard dailies.

The Holocaust in American Catholic Newspapers event is in conjunction with the History Unfolded initiative by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. For more information about volunteering for the Sprint, please contact Marsha Stevenson at msteven1@nd.edu.

Panel and Reception

Following the Sprint, we invite all to join us for a panel featuring:

After the panel, all attendees are invited to the Scholars Lounge, located across from the Carey Auditorium, for a light reception.

Spotlight Exhibit

A Spotlight exhibit, curated by Julie Tanaka, is on display in Special Collections, highlighting some of our Holocaust-related materials.
