Edward Trofimov

Edward Trofimov is a Medieval History Ph.D. student in the Department of History at the University of Notre Dame. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in French and History and his Master’s Degree in Medieval History from Tel Aviv University. His current research concentrates on legal and popular religious perceptions of crime, punishment, and sin in the Middle Byzantine Empire. More broadly, Edward is interested in Byzantine social and religious history, the Mediterranean, the Crusades, and the history of mentalities.
