Class Trip: Art Institute of Chicago's "Taller de Gráfico Popular" Exhibit

Location: Art Institute of Chicago

On Saturday, September 27, Professors Graubart and Pensado are taking members of their classes on a guided tour of the Art Institute of Chicago. One particular exhibit they plan to visit focuses on the Taller de Gráfico Popular, an important Mexican print movement of the 20th Century. During the period following the Mexican Revolution, art was used to advance revolutionary social causes, highlighting the political and social changes that were occurring at the time.  Students will have a chance to view prints, posters, and lithographs while guided on the tour by the curator of the exhibit.
