Senior Thesis Competition
Students in the History Honors program are invited to submit their senior thesis to be considered for the best senior thesis prize.
Submission Guidlines
The deadline for submission of the senior thesis to be considered for the best senior thesis prize is TBD. Enclose three copies of your thesis (do not include your name on any of the thesis pages) along with a separate cover sheet with your name, class year, and award(s) for which you are submitting an entry.
Senior Thesis Prize Recipients
Essay Prize Competition
Each year the Department of History awards three prizes to undergraduate history majors. Winners receive a certificate, $150.00, and recognition at the various end-of-year ceremonies. The awards are:
Monsignor Francis A. O'Brien Award
(best essay by a senior history major)
Rev. Marvin R. O'Connell Award
(best essay by a junior/sophomore history major)
O'Hagan Award
(best essay in Irish history by a history major)
Submissions
Submissions for the 2007-2008 Prize Competition are due by Friday, April 18 in the Department of History office (219 O'Shaughnessy Hall). Enclose three copies of your essay (do not include your name on any of the essay pages) along with a separate cover sheet with your name, class year, and award(s) for which you are submitting an entry.
Senior theses are not eligible for this competition (they are considered for a separate prize). The Department reserves the right not to make a particular award in any given year.
