Heidi Ardizzone’s research focus is nineteenth and early twentieth century U.S. cultural and social history, especially the constructions and experiences of race, gender and ethnicity. She has co-authored Love on Trial: An American Scandal in Black and White (W.W. Norton & Co., 2001) with Earl Lewis, and authored An Illuminated Life: Belle da Costa Greene's Journey from Prejudice to Privilege (W.W. Norton & Co., forthcoming, Winter 2007.)
