The history department offers approximately ten graduate courses each semester. that span a wide range of periods, topics, and themes. The departmental strengths in religious history (European and American), in cultural and social history, and in the history of science and technology are complemented by and in the formidable resources of the Medieval Institute and the program in History and Philosophy of Science.
