Currently on leave with NEH fellowship to write a book on Rome in the Medieval Imagination.
Won the 2011 Otto Gründler Book Prize for his work “Images, Iconoclasm, and the Carolingians” (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2009).
Awarded the 2011 Charles Sheedy Prize for excellence in teaching.
President (for 2012) of the American Catholic Historical Association.
